Swiss Table, a charity project run by the "Hoffnung für Menschen in Not" (Hope for the Needy) foundation, aims to rectify the imbalance between surfeit and want.
Every day, volunteers collect surplus but perfectly good foodstuffs from large distributors and retailers and distribute them gratis to charitable organizations - a total of 3.016 tons is collected each year.
According to a free study from McKinsey, with each Swiss franc donated, Swiss Table create a value added of 18.20 Swiss francs! You will find further information at www.schweizertafel.ch.
You help with your donation!
* A donation can be made from 1,000 points and upwards.
* Place blocks of 1,000 points into the basket until you have reached the amount you desire to donate.
* For every 1,000 points, CHF 4 will be donated to Swiss Table.
* pointup credits Swiss Table once a year with a cash amount corresponding to the points received by pointup members.
* In 2009, a check of CHF 20,000 has been presented to Swiss Table.
